Hello from RexAllen Jr.

Well Rex, what have you been doing for the last 18 months what with Covid and all. Nothing much I guess for a retired guy!

During the last year and a half I have produced 6 CD’s for “Country Rewind Records” from old masters that they have in their vault. “The Last Singing Cowboy” on my Dad, “Then And Now” on me, “The Sons Of The Pioneers”, “Tex Williams”, “Tex Ritter” and “Merle Travis”. I am currently finishing a new CD on “Hank Snow” and have two more on Classic Country Artists on the books for the summer of 2021.

Oh, and I have a new CD scheduled for release July of 2021 from “The Garage Song” series of CD’s. Its called “Garage Songs XVI, ‘The COVID CD'”!!

So, I have been enjoying a leisurely retirement! My son Wyatt says that I will never retire. He is probably right. I retired from the road, but I am currently working on a very special tour in the spring of 2022. My Dad said “You never retire Son, you just raise your price!” I  always listened to my Dad.

Life is Nashville is good. I’m watching my Grandchildren grow into teenagers. They are kind and loving young people. Jackson and Maary Fletcher have great parents!

The year 2020 was special to me. 2020 is the anniversary of my Dad’s birth and it will be a special year in Willcox at Rex Allen Days. No only will I be doing a FREE show on Saturday October 3rd with a few special guests, but there is also a dinner with limited seating of just 100 friends. More information on the dinner later.

I did some very special things for my Dad’s 100th Birthday in 2020. Everything is limited to just 100 pieces. There is a solid one oz Silver collectable coin, a one oz solid Copper collectable coin, 100 mens and woman’s t-shirts, coffee mugs and beautiful pins. I am in the design phase now and should have pictures as well as how to buy the items very soon. What I have in mind is that everything will be special….very special!

My last single of 2020 was ‘Dream On Texas Ladies’ from my  CD “Then And Now”. This CD contains my last Master Recording done in Nashville during the mid eighties as well as more recent songs from the 2000’s. I am very excited about this CD. Call your local radio station anywhere in the world and request the record please!!!

Rex’s radio show is back twice a week on truckersradiousa.com too! Please go to their website for times. The show can also be heard on KHIL Radio in Willcox.

“I have also released two CD’s on my Dad that have not been available ever! ‘Rex Allen Classic Westerns The Victor Young Years Volume I’ and ‘Rex Allen The Last Singing Cowboy’. All have been re-mastered and are available for download everywhere!

Rex released 6 CD’s tin 2019…..thats right 6! “The Singing Cowboy” with the original recordings of ‘Last Of The Silver Screen Cowboys’, ‘Ride Cowboy Ride’, ‘Cowboy In A Three Piece Business Suit’ and the current “Song Of The Year” from the CMA of Texas ‘Where Are The Heroes’. The CD with the original artwork will be on iTunes, Amazon and CDbaby.com just in time for Christmas.
