“Thanks to so many friends, I have had a wonderful career.  So many accolades. But, it is time for me to hang up the guitars and see the world from the other side of the footlights” says Rex. “I have been fortunate to travel all over the world singing my songs for the last 50 years, but there comes a time to take one last bow and move to the next part of my life”.

After over 50 charted singles and 35 albums, writer of the Arizona State Song, member of The Western Music Hall Of Fame, the Arizona Entertainers and Musicians Hall Of Fame and countless other awards Rex will ride off into the sunset on October 7, 2017 where his career began in Willcox, Arizona at Rex Allen Days. “I’m going to end it where it began at the Rex Allen Theater in Willcox. It is a small venue where I can sing my songs and thank the folks that have made my life possible. My singing career began there in 1954 at Rex Allen Days with my Dad. It’s great that I can end where I began!”.

Rex has not slowed in his career quite yet. His latest CD ‘Garage Songs VII’ has produced a top 20 single in Australia, New Zealand, Europe and the UK. ‘Lord I Hope This Day Is Good’. His next worldwide single will be ‘Ride Cowboy Ride’ which was written by Rex and has become the most recorded song in Western Music history. His next CD “Garage Songs VIII The Folk Years” will be released very soon and is a collection of songs he sang in High School and college. “Folk Music taught me to sing harmony. I still sing those songs today to my Grandchildren”. All of Rex’s music is available on iTunes and at www.cdbaby.com.

“Between now and the end of 2017 I also plan to release my earlier albums on CD. Like ‘Oklahoma Rose’ and ‘Cats In The Cradle’. Once that is done, my entire music catalog will be there forever! Who knows, perhaps a star traveler will take ‘Oklahoma Rose’ to some distant planet one day.
