A message from Rex

Almost May 2005

Hello Everybody,

Well, it has been a very busy five months!

It seems like I have been on the go from the beginning of the year and it doesn’t look like it is going to let up for a while. As most of you know I spend the first quarter of my year in Arizona and Southern California. This year was no exception. It is always great to see old friends during that time every year. From Yuma to Florence and from Surprise to Tucson the fans were great. See you all next year.

In March I performed at Festival of the West in Scottsdale Arizona. Deanna and Cody joined me for the weekend while I was there and we all had a wonderful time. One of the highlights of the show was getting to see Johnny Western again. He and his wife Jo are our best friends and we don’t get to see them enough.

Spur, Texas……What a great place to sing. And the people there are unbelievable! Thanks to all who made it possible for me to be there. The food and conversation was the best. They put me up in a hunting cabin that made it hard for me to leave town! So peaceful and quiet.

As we speak I am working on a film called “Buckaroo.” I am going to play a small part and also be the Music Producer for the film. We begin shooting on May 2nd. There will be a sound track album with cuts by me, Sarah Shelton, The Prairie Rose Wranglers and others. The film should be released sometime this fall. It is “G” rated!

I am also beginning to work on two new CD’s. One will be a new Western CD and the other will be “My Favorite Yesteryears”. Both should be ready by August when I hit the road hard again.

If you are not doing anything in January of next year, maybe you could join Deanna and I as well as the folks at the Prairie Rose for a cruise! Yep, that’s right a cruise. We will be leaving from Galveston and be out for 7 days. I am doing two or three shows. Who knows, you might even get to see me in a bathing suit! I don’t want to ruin your trip though! But a little sun in the middle of winter will be great. The web site and Nadine and Terri will have all the information.

Now for China. All seems to be going as planned. The latest is that we will be going over for ten concerts in march of next year. I have also heard talk that there will be a way for you all to join us. But more on that as it comes to me. Deanna and I are really looking forward to the trip and the shows.

Deanna is doing well. She is working too hard, but doing well. She looks wonderful and is working with Sarah selling High Rise Condos here in Vegas. She has been very busy and it doesn’t look like it will let up for at least sixty days. Then she will need a vacation and we plan to take one too! It will be our first one in fifteen years.

Wade and Chris are in Texas. Chris has gone back to school to get her degree and Wade is expanding his company. Deanna and I are so proud of how hard both of them work. If any one deserves to really make it, it is them.

Marcus is also in Texas. He is working for his Dad and starting a business of his own. He always has some great ideas. This one we think will really work out for him.

Wyatt and Rachel are in Virginia. Wyatt got traded to the Pirates and he seems to really like it with them. Wyatt and Rachel are talking about moving out west. Rachel has a masters in teaching and might begin her career in Arizona. We’ll see!

Cody is here with us in Vegas. He is getting so tall! Right at 6’ 2” now. He is on the honor roll at school and getting ready for the Junior Prom and the SAT’s. He grew his hair out and now has cut it short! My Dad never let me grow my hair! Does that make me a better Father?!!!

Logan just finished the musical “Oklahoma” at his school. He played Curley the male lead. He is also going to sing with a jazz band in Nashville. I was so proud of his performance. He did a great job.

Well I guess that is about it for now. Next I’ll work on the schedule! Have a safe Spring!

Rex
