A message from Rex

November 20, 2002

Hi To All,

Boy it was a long summer! It started at the end of May and didn’t let up ‘til November. Deanna and I drove most of the trips, flew some and sometimes it seemed that we walked them!

The fairs were great. Everywhere from North Dakota to parts south. Most of them were with LeRoy VanDyke and Country Gold. I love to do those shows. The fans seem to love them and I get to work with and see so many of the Classic Country Performers. We begin booking next summer's fairs here in Vegas right after Thanksgiving. I hope we well be in your area next year.

As many of you know, I don’t do very many Western Festivals. However, it was great to see so many of you in Gene Autry Oklahoma. Dusty Rogers was there along with Johnny Western and Les Gilliam. What a show. Dusty went on to Willcox for Rex Allen Days and we ended the year together in Maryland. Next year I’m going to try and get Johnny Western back to Willcox for Rex Allen Days. He is such a great performer and friend.

In other news.....

Deanna has been working hard on more TV. Right now it looks like sometime in August you will be seeing my face on the small screen. We’ll keep you posted.

I have been doing more commercials. Mahindra Tractors, Charbroil Grills and the movie trailers for a new Jeff Foxworthy film.

As you can see from the schedule, the first few months of 2003 are going to be busy. I am really looking forward to my concert with the Sonoran Symphony on May 3rd. That is something I always wanted to do. I’m going to do more Western music there. One, because it is a Western Music night, and two because Western Music lends itself to a big band. But more on that as we get closer to the date.

Deanna and I are talking about a new album to be recorded sometime this year. A Christmas album is leading the conversations at this time. What do you all think?

All the kids are doing well. Cody and Logan are getting so BIG! They will be driving in March! Can you believe it? We can’t. But, they are doing well in school, on the swimming team and taking piano lessons.

Marcus is here with us in Vegas. Got his health back finally and looking for work!

Wyatt went back to school for a semester and in February he starts Spring training in Tucson with the White Sox.

Wade is drilling water wells in Texas. Deep and shallow wells along with an Earth Moving business he has also started. Cody, Logan and I surprised him for his 25th birthday last month.

Speaking of birthdays, Deanna has one on Thanksgiving day. She gets more beautiful each year. As Johnny Western says, “You married up kid!” Don’t I know it. “Dune The Dog” is going along for the ride. He says he needs to visit Wade and Chris and their Dog Sadie.

We are going to Texas for Turkey day. “Dune the Dog” is going along for the ride. He says he needs to visit with Wade and Chris, but really their dog “Sadie”. There will be about 20 people for dinner and football. Lots of family and friends.

Christmas starts for us on December 19th. with the arrival of all the kids, girlfriends and dogs. Families seem to grow and grow! But it is sure fun to have a full house for the holidays.

Merry Christmas to you all! I’ll see you next year.

Rex
